Of course, I respected the creatures enough to leave them at home in the water, but for our time together I would acquaint myself with the oddity of their likeness and the tickle of their texture as they moved about in the core of my hand.

It is meaningful to be able to translate the abstraction of my love and nostalgia for these memories into something tangible like these gold starfish earrings. It is a cherished honour to have been able to create such a strong connection with this being during my formative years; it is a connection that has proved essential in the care of this design.
